Realty Trust Group Partners with Desoto Regional Health System on $50 Million Expansion Project

Representatives from Realty Trust Group (RTG) and Desoto Regional Health System (DRHS) joined on August 23rd to celebrate the groundbreaking for a hospital renovation and expansion project including a new 30,000-square-foot medical office building in Mansfield, LA.

The building will house a rural health clinic, a 3-bed sleep lab, administrative offices, a new 16-bed medical/surgical unit and a 9-bed emergency department. These upgrades will allow DRHS to better meet the growing healthcare needs of the community and improve patient care by enhancing operational efficiency between its emergency and inpatient departments. “With no room to spare at the current Mansfield rural health clinic and outpatient rooms being 50 to 70 years old, this expansion is essential for modernizing our facility and enhancing urgent and emergency care for the people of DeSoto Parish,” said Todd Eppler, CEO of DeSoto Regional Health System.

Construction is expected to take two to three years to complete. During this time, DRHS will remain fully operational, ensuring uninterrupted care for its patients as the facility undergoes this much-needed transformation.

RTG, a trusted healthcare real estate advisor, has partnered with DRHS to provide comprehensive project management services for the expansion. As part of an overall $50M project budget, RTG led efforts to obtain $32M of project financing through USDA’s Community Facilities loan program. RTG’s additional responsibilities include overseeing architect selection, coordinating competitive bids for general contractors, developing a master program schedule and budget, and managing project consultants. RTG will continue to guide the project through completion and activation, ensuring the timely and successful delivery of this crucial healthcare expansion.

“Our partnership with DRHS on this project is a testament to our commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in rural communities,” said Chad Simpson, President of Realty Trust Group. “We are proud to be part of this transformative initiative that will benefit patients and healthcare providers alike.”
